Lost Along the Pike
THE INSPECTION GALLERY

In 1999 the Society stumbled upon, among papers donated to the collection, a 1949 construction photograph bearing a handwritten note on the reverse side, referring to a previously unknown inspection gallery portal. The portal was located and cleared. An Interior Condition Survey was conducted on October 9, 1999; the scanned prints are presented below. The portal was permanently sealed in the spring of 2000, awaiting resumption of the dam's construction.
