Agnus Hess has served as Town Clerk of Progress Dam since 1994. She also serves as PD EMT Coordinator, a position she created and subsequently accepted.

As Town Clerk, Agnus Hess maintains the official minutes of all Borough Council meetings and has not missed a meeting since 1997. Records requests are fulfilled in the order they are received. There is currently no backlog, and there never has been; Agnus Hess views procrastination as “a failure of the system.”

As PD EMT Coordinator, Agnus Hess works in close coordination with PD IDI and conducts a monthly inventory of Progress Dam's emergency response equipment. The inventory has returned an identical result for 214 consecutive months. Readiness remains at the level it has always been.

Agnus Hess is a graduate of Progress Dam High School, where she was a cheerleader for the Fighting Beavers. She declined to provide additional detail, and we have respected that.

Residents may visit the Town Clerk's office during regular hours.

When asked to summarize her approach to public service, Agnus Hess said, “The records are kept.”
